About this coffee

Fazenda Das Almas is a family-owned coffee farm run by the Muniz family in Cabo Verde, with coffee roots dating back to 1942 and formal operations beginning in 1965. When Adriano Muniz took over from his father, he modernized the farm to improve quality, infrastructure, and processes, becoming a pioneer of specialty coffee in the Cabo Verde region. The farm is strongly committed to environmental and social responsibility, with 37% of its land preserved as forest, protected springs, ecological corridors, and certifications from UTZ (2004) and Rainforest Alliance (2009), while pursuing organic certification for new areas. Located at 1,100 meters altitude, the farm has been energy self-sufficient since 2017 through biogas-powered electricity. Fazenda Das Almas also focuses on innovation, testing new coffee varieties and post-harvest methods, including multiple fermentation techniques and honey processes, to continuously improve quality and adapt to its microclimate.
